  • Qutab Minar, in Delhi, India, is the world’ tallest freestanding brick and rock minaret. It stands 72 meters and was built by India’s first Islamic rulers between 1193 & 1386. It and contemporaneous surrounding structures are all part of the Qutab complex, a UNESCO world heritage site. In the foreground is the mysterious Iron Pillar where,  according to the traditional belief, any one who can encircle the column with their arms, facing backwards, can have a wish granted.
