Travelers revere these sites and often leave talismans, such as skulls of prized horses, scarves, money, vodka bottles or religious artifacts. These reflect spiritual traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, animism and shamanism.  Here, the crutches may be either from someone who was cured from a broken bone, or from someone deceased.
